Background
From the beginning of my career, I have been focused on different research avenues, including interactions among species, community ecology, macroecology, and biogeography. Aware that addressing lines of investigation requires multidisciplinary knowledge, I have been preparing myself thoroughly, studying different areas, and getting involved in collaborative projects with the aim of solving challenges related to these research lines. My studies and experience have enriched my general understanding of these lines of investigation and allowed me to propose projects with broad scopes. I have been fortunate to have the support of many people, who inspire me to contribute and discuss original research ideas and provide methodological solutions, diminishing the learning curve associated with each new topic. Key words: Biogeography, Macroecology, Behavioral Ecology, Conservation, Functional diversity
Research Interests
I am interested in ecology, conservation, behavior and evolution of marine and terrestrial species. My main current research projects aim to describe patterns and processes that influence the species richness, functional diversity, abundance, and phylogenetic diversity at global scales. |
